Does RVLL sponsor All-Star teams?
Yes. RVLL sponsors All-Star teams in the 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 year old divisions. All-Star team eligibility is based strictly on age, and thus some players may change divisions for All-Star play. Each division typically selects 12 to 20 top players as All-Stars. Players are selected to the All-Star team by a combination of player balloting and consensus of regular season Managers. After initial practices a traveling squad of 12 or 13 is selected to play in the games, but alternates are encouraged to continue practicing with the team, because if a player drops off the traveling squad due to injury or schedule conflict he may be replaced permanently by an alternate. All-Star practices usually commence in mid-June. Tournament play (typically a minimum of 6 games) begins around the first of July, runs for about two weeks, and may continue if the team advances by winning successive tournaments.
