Does that mean Consumers Energy is against any degree of choice?
Not at all. We believe it should be reserved for a small percentage of our overall customer load, and that measures should be put in place to discourage flip-flopping between non-regulated and regulated rates. We believe this is a reasonable requirement, and are pleased to see it reflected in the pending legislative package to update the state’s energy policy. That package (HB5520-25 and HB5548-49) is now in the Michigan House.
