Does that mean I can’t have any conflict in my roleplay and I have to be nice and sweet all the time?
Certainly not. Tension and conflict are often very exciting parts of roleplay. Just be sensitive to the real feelings of the person behind the character. If you’re going to do something extra negative to someone In Character, or you want to play out a conflict, it’s often a great idea to briefly chat with the others involved Out of Character first. This makes sure they’re all on board with what is happening and that they know it’s not personal. We often talk about separating the player and the character, but in practice it can be tough and we’re all human.
