Does the Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser Mic Give the Blue Snowball Mic a Run For Its Money?
Here is another well-revered USB mic that is both PC and Mac compatible. The Audio-Technica AT2020 USB is a side-addressed microphone that closely mimicks the original AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Mic. The original microphone has received much praise, as has its new USB counterpart. The Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Mic is right on par with the Blue Microphones Snowball, minus the ability to toggle between three pattern modes. Some customers, however, have reported that this particular mic does pic up some background noise. This can easily be solved with a portable sound booth and/or a quiet recording environment. Ultimately, the concensus I’ve gathered from looking at multiple Audio-Technica AT2020 Reviews is that it gets its highest marks for durability, sound quality, and value… though I do believe you get more for your money with the Snowball.
