Does the BioSense application include national data only, or are there plans for global surveillance or for surveillance in the U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico?
BioSense currently includes all U.S. states and territories including Puerto Rico , Guam , Virgin Islands , and Marshall Islands through the DoD, VA, and LabCorp data. In addition, there are real-time data connections in 10 major metropolitan areas. The first priority of BioSense is to cover states and major metropolitan areas in the continental United States, but long term plans include expanding to real-time data sources U.S. territories as appropriate data become available. There are no plans at this time to make BioSense and international system.
