I cannot respond to Alaska, you will need to go to their web site. However, California does not require the CGFNS exam. It does require a social security number before they will issue the actual license. The foreign educated nurses who passes NCLEX for a California license will get a letter basically telling them they have passed and requesting the social security number be submitted. The license application has been changed and you will see that the application indicates the social security number is REQUIRED in order to apply for a license. Question: Adjustment of Status : If I were to avail of adjustment of status from a tourist visa(I have NCLEX, CGFNS, TOEFL, TSE) , Do I apply for adjustment immediately or wait a few months? Can my immediate family be “adjusted” as well? Answer: I would wait a few months….most attorneys recommend that. You must have an employment offer from a US employer who will be the sponsor. Of course, you must be here in the USA on a non work visa status su
