Caliper cover really helps not to heat up very much. She only covers the front of the caliper allowing all heat to escape up thru the top of the caliper.
Now it is also very popular to give caliper a bright color or Vice versa is very strict to improve the appearance of your car. You can read more about these paints in this review. Hope was helpful!
