Does the calorie count in beer goes up as the percentage of alcohol goes up?

Broad generalized answer… Yes it is typical for the calorie count to go up when the ABV (Alcohol By Volume) goes up however this isn’t always true. A standard American pint of Guinness has about 160 calories and a standard American pint of Budweiser has about 190. The alcohol content is relatively equal between the two. I cringe to think what the calorie content of a Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA is at 20-21% ABV. Oh, and Gizelle… Vodka has 75 calories in every ounce. A standard shot is 2 ounces which equals 150 calories per shot. There are no carbs in vodka… but as we all know weight gain comes from both sources.
