While this rule applies to nearly 100% of cases, there are circumstances where a Protestant baptism is not valid. For a baptism to be valid, it must meet the following conditions: A. The minister who baptizes a candidate must have the intention of baptizing the individual. B. The one who is being baptized, having reached the age of understanding, must have the desire of being baptized. C. The proper words must be said, baptizing in the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If the above conditions are not met, the baptism is not valid.
