Yes. The emergency outdoor warning system is activated whenever the National Weather Service issues a tornado or severe storm warning for the City of Huxley. The City of Huxley will also activate it if there is a severe storm or tornado warning within 30 miles of Huxley and it is headed our direction. There will also be two storm shelters that will open for residents that don’t have a shelter. The back door to the office building just to the north of the telephone company on Main Ave. (Old City Hall) will be open as well as the north door to the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church on E 3rd St. Also, we do not issue an “all clear” siren. Please refer to local radio or television stations for when conditions are safe. Please do not call the police department during the storm unless it is an actual emergency.
