Does the Council lobby the U.S. Congress?
No. The Council does not lobby U.S. Congress on any issues. We are prevented from doing so in our bylaws. The Council’s members such as the National Corn Growers Association, National Sorghum Producers, National Barley Growers Association and agribusinesses lobby congress on U.S. domestic issues. We do work closely with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Trade Representative and the Administration on issues related to trade, such as free trade agreements and trading standards.
