Does the Cypress Police Department have a Citizens Academy?
The department offers a Citizens Academy twice a year, once in the spring and one in the fall. The students will gain an overall knowledge of the Cypress Police Department, how we are organized, how we serve the community, and who the people are that respond when citizens call. Even though the subject matter is similar to a traditional police academy, the Citizen Police Academy is not designed to prepare students to be police officers. A major goal of the Citizen Police Academy is to increase understanding between citizens and their police department, and to build a stronger relationship for the future good of the community.
