Does the Department interview applicants?

0

We invite a small number of applicants for interview. Many of those interviewed are mature students who have alternative qualifications, for example Access or Open University. We also interview a small proportion of applicants who we consider borderline when considered alongside our standard entry criteria, or whose overall academic profile may have been affected by personal circumstances. However, the majority of our decisions are made on the basis of a very careful reading of the UCAS form alone. Interviews are normally held between December and March. If you are invited for interview, you will be seen by two members of academic staff. You will normally be asked to arrive thirty minutes before the interview, in order to give you the opportunity to read a short extract from a literary text. In the interview you will be asked to talk about this extract. The interview will last around fifteen minutes.
