Does The Hillsboro Community Have Advanced Life Support Needs?
Yes, this community has advanced life support needs. We are no different than large cities in regard to the types of emergencies which occur. In addition, our farming community increases potential for accidents needing advanced life support care to save a life. Feasibility of Paramedic/EMT ambulance service is not strictly determined by volume . Rural citizens should have access to advanced life support care just like our big city neighbors. This is an access issue. One of the original intents of Paramedic level service was to place Paramedics in rural areas where rough terrain and weather issues make access to advanced care a challenge. Our goal is to work together with the community. We are offering to provide Paramedic level of care for our rural population.
