Does the March of Dimes support research into the causes of premature birth?
The March of Dimes supports many grants aimed at improving understanding of the causes of preterm labor, with the goal of learning how to prevent it. For example, Prematurity Research Initiative grantees are studying the role genes and heredity play in premature births and how the rate of fetal lung development, infection and other factors may trigger labor.
