Does the media normalise infidelity in marriage?

0

The media can not change a culture’s perception of infidelity. Our society has gradually shifted to a more liberal view of marriage and has shifted away from the traditional views. Also, there has been a religious culture change in that many people don’t find themselves influenced by religious morals and rules. The media certainly portrays this and gives people the information regarding this culture shift that has happened, but it has not caused the shift. It’s easier for people to cheat now, there’s the internet and cell phones and constant ability to connect with anyone, anywhere. But people still get caught.

The media does normalize infidelity. But you have to realize that the media is nothing more than a reflection of society in general, it doesn’t set the standard, we do.

The media is just that…media. Infidelity does happen a lot in real life and has been going on since the beginning of time. As to whether it has an impact on society, that’s debatable.
