Does the new Volvo S80 have a flashing rear windshield brake light?
I saw an S80 where the third brake light – the bar in the rear windshield – flashed like a warning every time the driver hit the brakes. Is this an add-on or something new for Volvo? I have a 1999 S80 and am interested in adding this safety feature to my car. Thanks! A: No this is not factory installed. To my knowledge some car companies (mercedes) are starting to look at putting a feature in to strobe the brake lights in emergency braking maneuvers, but this is not the norm. Especially if the brake light flashes every time the vehicle brakes, then this would defeat the purpose of alerting people to an emergency stop or a driver attempting an emergency braking maneuver.
