Does the oxygen sensor fault cause my car to cut out ?

Yes – Here in the US most if not all the cars have at least two of these – upstream, (meaning before the catalytic converter) it tell your cars computer pretty much how much fuel it needs and how to adjust the timing to run correctly and efficientlyy. Downstream (meaning after the cat) this one is the one all off us would love to get rid of because it hampers what we can and cant do to customize our exaust systems – this one is primarily there because the government says it has to be there and it monitors only that your catalytic converter is working that is it – and when it starts to not work it sends a signal to the computer to make your car run like crap forcing you to get it fixed, typically known as L.O.M.
