Does the recipient need to have an account with a particular bank in Nepal?
The recipient does not need to have an account with any particular bank. Instead, if the delivery area is outside Kathmandu, a demand draft or pay order issued through Nepal Bank Ltd. or another appropriate bank will be used to send funds by courier to the recipient. With this service, there are no hidden charges whatsoever to the recipient for cashing the demand draft/pay order at any bank in Nepal. Currently, many banks in Nepal charge a service fee for cashing checks from other banks. Many money transfer services do not provide for the use of demand drafts/pay orders. Instead they provide checks drawn on their bank that may result in the recipient paying additional fees to cash the check.
