If you are asking about gender roles, then yes, I think they absolutely have an effect in how young children see themselves, and I personally think that they are harmful, even if they are disguised as progressive and empowering. The only thing that’s left in a young girl’s mind after watching that stuff is how pretty the princesses are and how they found happiness with a handsome prince. That kind of story is the base of silly expectations and lowered ambition later in life for young women.
