Does the reptilian part of the brain in humans have a basis in fact?
You have more than one “brain” your spinal cord acts like a brain, maybe thats what they mean by “reptilian” think back to the last time you burned yourself, do you remember thinking “crikey thats hot” and then taking your hand away? no, you will find you whipped your hand away before you even realised you were burning, this is the “reptilian” brain at work, your actual brain is too slow to get you out of danger sometimes, so the other one kicks in and you save yourself with it, like when someone makes you jump by creeping up on you, does your actual brain think”argh” nope, your spine is tingling and the hairs on the back of your neck will be standing up, you are ready to run like hell all in less than a second, “reptilian” brain again, good isint it!!!
