We highly recommend cleaning the Sea-Onic™ array after each footbath. The arrays should be cleaned using the brush supplied with the array. Not doing so will decrease the effectiveness of the array over time. However, rust is a very old component of seawater and it has lost all of biological activity, in other words it is biologically inert. Therefore, it will not harm the user if there is a small amount (only) of rust. This will not decrease the effectiveness of the Sea-Onic™ array.
