Does the Toshiba 42hp83p plasma TV have burn-in protection?
Most current model plasma’s do have burn in protection and there has been alot of research into plasma’s to prevent burn-in, but it is still possible for any plasma to have burn-in issues. I do not know that the Toshiba does have burn-in protection but it is very highly likely, my LG 42″ has built in programs to reduce burn-in and reverse it if it does happen, i havn’t needed to use it yet though, and i play alot of games on the TV. Note: The first 100 hours that you use a plasma you may notice some white burn-in on black backgrounds, this is totally normal as the TV has to run in. The white burn-in goes away as images pass by it, this becomes much less notible after the run in period.
