Tire pressure can greatly impact fuel mileage. The correct tire pressure is a delicate balance between tire performance, tire life, ride, safety, and rolling resistance. The lower the rolling resistance the tire exhibits, the higher the fuel mileage. However, less rolling resistance also means less traction. Underinflated and overinflated tires can be dangerous. Purchase a high quality tire gauge and check your tires every time you fill up with gas. Inflate to the maximum pressure as designated on the tire placard usually located on the driver's door or door post.  more
