Does Toronto have a problem with **** roaches?

Yeah, they’re out there. My first apartment in Toronto had roaches. If the place looks clean that’s the first good sign. When you’re looking around, especially in the kitchen, check for little black gritty specks that are a tad shiny. That’s roach sh*t. If you’re not sure, but you like the place, come around to the building in the evening, and go inside if you can, and just walk around, take the elevator, walk down the halls. If you don’t see any roaches that’s another good sign. Once you’ve moved in you’ll find out in the next 24 hours whether or not you have roaches. If you do, get some roach killer. I hear Chinese roach killing chalk works well. You can get it in Chinatown at one of those sell-everything stores. And you can try the pharmacy/supermarket stuff. If all fails and the roaches keep returning, move. Fighting a landlord about this is stressful, even costly. Anyway, roaches won’t hurt you, so try to chill as much as you can while you’re taking care of the problem.
