Does unconditional love lead one to having no earthly desires?

It can but not necessarily. You can love one unconditionally and still need a place to live. Let’s say you have no place to live. You can still love unconditionally. Sometimes the need of material things is a hindrance to unconditional love. Sometimes the acquisition of material things is the hindrance to unconditional love. Depends on many things. Christ, Who exemplified unconditional love had no earthly desires or belongings really. He was a homeless wanderer, but He was God Incarnate. The whole earth was His, as His creation…He always had what He needed. I’ve known those who gave up ALL worldly possessions, to struggle for lack of distraction in the quest to come closer to God, Who is unconditional Love, and they as a rule, do become much more loving….but it could always turn out differently—like their struggle to go without earthly goods was too much and so they actually became more distracted from God, and thus less loving. It doesn’t require a lack of belongings to love….
