Does USERRA have special rules for disabled veterans?
Yes, under USERRA, employers must reasonably accommodate veterans who return to work with disabilities incurred or aggravated during their military service. If an employee still cannot perform the job after an accommodation, an employer is obligated to place that individual in an equivalent position that he or she is able to perform. Also, service members convalescing from injuries received or aggravated during military service usually have up to two years to return to their jobs.
