Does YA encourage quality ?The best quality answers are given by whom?
I do not think Yahoo encourages quality. When I answer a question, I find myself going back to see how many thumbs-up/down I received. I find it satisfying when a lot of people agree with me. I find it troubling when they do not but I also reconsider my opinion in those cases and wonder if I need to rethink a matter. I enjoy getting awarded “best answer” and I am excited to see if the asker left me any comments. However in many cases, especially depending on the forum, the asker just disappears leaving the people to vote on the best answer. I vote for mine even to the point of having a number of yahoo accounts to vote for my own answer thus insuring my answer gets chosen as best. Of course I find it disappointing to win as I simply cheated. All that to say that someone with a hight percentage of best answers does not mean that person is a graduate of MIT.
