Does Year 10 sit in the middle or senior years of schooling? Does Year 7 sit in the primary or secondary years?
The Australian curriculum will specify the content and achievement standards for each year of schooling and outline the learning expectations for each year of schooling. ACARA is giving consideration to the diversity of systems and schools throughout Australia and the need to be responsive to local contexts. The positioning of Year 7 and Year 10 within stages or phases of schooling is likely to remain a state/local decision.
