Doesn’t a crossbar style bar offer better stiffness and control?

No. Crossbars were designed to support 7/8 inch bars. Without a crossbar 7/8 bars would be too weak and flexible to safely use. Our 35mm(1 3/8) bar uses it’s unique geometry to provide nearly the same vertical stiffness as a 7/8 bar – without a crossbar. Because a crossbar only adds stiffness in the vertical plane no steering control is gained. Our bar provides more stiffness in all directions providing more precise control, especially in rough situation where the front wheel is being pushed around – like braking bumps entering a corner or fast choppy straits.
