Doesnt Lehigh have enough endowment already?
Lehighs endowment stands at $797 million. We have improved our position compared to endowments of private institutions, but Lehigh continues to rank in the lower half of the list among institutions with which we compete for students, as measured by full-time endowment per student (FTE). FTE is important because it generally corresponds with a universitys national ranking by U.S. News and World Report. The higher the FTE, the better the school is ranked. Endowment performance and spending have been positive. However, not enough new gifts to endowment have been made to keep Lehigh competitive.
