Doulas attend births at home, at the hospital, and at birth centers basically, anywhere a baby might be born. She will labor at home with the woman until it is time to go to the hospital/birth center and in the case of a homebirth, doulas will labor at home with the mom until her midwife arrives, and will stay and continue to support the mom until the baby is born! In addition, every doula has the utmost respect for the lifesaving technology available for unexpected circumstances in a hospital.
