Duraflame, Enviro-log or Pine Mountain Logs: Which is Better?
a portable heater is considered an accessory and is on a different tier then normal appliances. Basically it breaks down to .30 cents an hour to run one, so the cost can definitely creep up on you. I now have turned to buying fire logs from Wal-Mart. There are a few different brands you can buy that range in price. If I add it all up, I’m probably spending the same amount I would be if I ran my portable heater, but I’d rather pay a little here and there for fire logs instead of getting a huge power bill due all at once. Here are a few I have tried and my input on how efficient they are for the price. Enviro-log – $10.00/box of 6 The price is nice, but once you light it you realize you might as well throw your $10 bill into the fire and burn it along with it. They put off hardly any heat and don’t burn the 2 hours that you expect them to. You are lucky if you get an hour out of it, all it consists of is burning recycled cardboard which goes quickly.
