During the Renaissance, did the increased spending on transportation (ships etc.) for trade affect the economy?

I do not think it affected it much. The mega-wealth was kept among a select few people and it was not distributed among the entire population and because of this, a lot of things that happened then did not affect everyone, and even if they were affected, maybe, they did not even know it. The ships – even though they cost a lot of money to build and the voyage cost money – returned with a bounty that was worth a fortune. The photos of the Renaissance era show men and women dressed in the finest clothes with the most beautiful adornments. So, I’m thinking the ships and their bounty kept the people in the renaissance era looking their best and allowed them to live the good life.
