Every news channel talks about being credible and being the voice of the people. Apart from these obvious facts, how is Sahara Samay different from the other news channels?
A. We have tried to be honest in our approach, keep our credibility and tried to connect with the people as much as possible. For instance, during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, we were the first channel to move out of the studio. We did a dozen shows at different locations including the interiors of the country. We tried to get the views, opinions and thus, figure out the issues of concern for the common voters. This gave a correct perspective on what actually a common voter wants. We also avoided studio based discussions talking heads as the Americans say where a politician would come in and defend the allegations or talk about his achievements. Considering the fact that this was the first general election for Sahara Samay, we performed quite well. But I still believe that there is a tremendous scope for further improvement.
