Explain how an Island Disappears?

Since you are the lower portion of the brain stem responsible for autonomic actions, and you are not capable of higher intellectual functions, I forgive you. I do not know if Jesus will be so forgiving for dragging him into this. Islands may rise and fall because of the changes in the underlying crustal plates. The physics of this is described in the science of plate tectonics. Islands may also rise and fall because of volcanic action. The island of Westmanajar rose near Iceland in the last 50 years. The island of Krakatoa exploded and disappeared about 50 years before that. Take your meds. I hope that you feel better soon.

Actually, from what I know, scientists do not deny that there are species underwater that we don’t know about because we can’t reach them. Giant squid used to be a myth, until one was caught. Some parts of the ocean are soooo deep that none of our technology allows us to reach the bottom of it. I don’t think that if an island rose from the ocean and undiscovered life forms were on it (dead or alive) that scientists would fall to their knees and praise Jesus. They would just look forward to exploring the new discoveries and probably wouldn’t be too surprised about the new life forms because that is scientifically explainable. Nice thought but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Uhh, if it’s a really flat island not very high above sea level, the tide could make it disappear. Or, someone turned the big wheel like the guy did on Lost. In Brigadoon the town disappears for a hundred years every evening (for the people in the town) to escape witch attacks.

The Military spilled camouflage paint on it. Alternatively—volcanic (earthquake) activity under the seabed causes a small land mass, say an island, to sink. It hasn’t disappeared, really, it’s just underwater Global warming also contributes to this islands “disappearing”.
