As with any Varsity/JV sport at HCS, Women’s JV Lacrosse follows the HCS Athletic Handbook vis-a-vis policies related to Attendance at Practices and Games. (There is a specific section in the Handbook titled this. It is available to each parent and will be available during our Parents Meeting.) In past years, through the first week, the coaches implemented grace for a couple of athletes who were new to Varsity level sports and had not been exposed to these policies in the past. We are thankful for the many activities that Lacrosse athletes are involved in and make no judgement whatsoever on what takes priority in a student’s life. That, of course, is a parent/athlete discussion. As above, we do, however, implement the policy as a matter of fairness to all athletes. We made every effort possible in building a schedule that avoids dates that would force (parents and) the athletes into difficult decisions. A specific example of this is band and choir commitments; the only real conflict th
