For mathematics A-level are students expected to have or preferred to have mechanics modules over statistical modules?
We do not distinguish in our admissions process between applicants with statistics and those who have taken the Mechanics modules. However if the teaching is equally good and you have not other bias, then I would recommend that you take the Mechanics. This is because (1) Mechanics is a key topic for engineers (2) the way Mechanics is taught for A-level is more fundamental than the approach to statistics.
