For the non-Title I schools, what is the incentive to make AYP if there are no sanctions?
Currently, the requirements of NCLB such as choice or supplemental services do not apply to non-Title I schools. However, AYP reports provide public reporting of AYP results, and schools and districts will need to communicate their progress to their teachers, parents, and students. In addition, schools that do not make AYP will not be eligible for incentive programs such as the California Distinguished Schools Program.
