The Tenach is (essentially) about God’s plan for mankind. The more we understand the Hebraic roots of Scripture the more we see that every Scripture points to the Messiah, our Savior. The Tenach speaks strongly of the Messiah – as a conquering king to free His people, but also as a suffering servant. As a suffering servant He was the ultimate atoning sacrifice for His people. Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22 speak of this role of the Messiah. The Jewish people at the time of Jesus (and to this day) were expecting a conquering king, not a suffering servant. The Messiah will return in the future as the conquering king. The following are some Messianic prophecies from the Tenach, which Jesus fulfilled (He fulfilled many more, this is just a sample). It is an interesting exercise to calculate the probability of any one man fulfilling these propheciees. Even using conservative figures, you quickly reach the conclusion that it is beyond chance that Yeshua is the Messiah.
