FSH , is it Follicular Stimulating Hormone or Fetal Self Harm?

Dear Sir, It was very nice to read Stanley Shere’s letter, not reading and signing letters you have dictated is dangerous. In the past and while I was working in UK in 1975-1980, it was very rare to send a letter unsigned, but during the last few years I have received many letters from colleagues that were signed in their absence. I am also critical of the use of abbrevations, as you will see from my response title. In the Br. J. of Psychiatry, for example, there was a paper on Fetal Self Harm, by Dr. Salib, in which he uses FSH. I hope The British Medical Journal also looks into this sort of thing. One of my 5th year students at the Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University Hospital, who was asked to present on ADHD talked about Antidiuretic hormone deficiency disorder, and not Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
