I guess a lot of people got amaryllis bulbs and plants for Christmas this year, because I’ve gotten several questions about what to do with them. Loretta lives in USDA Zone 7 and wanted to know when she could plant hers outdoors. Iona has been growing her amaryllis bulb indoors, in pebbles, and now the plant is top heavy. Amaryllis bulbs are usually planted in the fall, for spring bloom. Christmas amaryllis plants can be planted out in the spring, but they have usually been forced into bloom and may need a season to get back in sync.
