Garret Anderson is supposedly healthy this spring and running better than he has previously. What happened and can he be the hitter the Angels relied on from 2000-03?
Throughout the team, Anderson’s health has been a big surprise this spring. He is playing pain-free for the first time since 2003 and after dealing with hamstring, back and foot problems the past three seasons, Anderson says he is playing pain free. When asked if he could again be the player who averaged 30 homers and 120 RBI from 2000-03 Anderson said he could be. Last year he says that the plantar fasciitis that plagued him in the beginning of the year disappeared with treatment and his numbers rose dramatically in the second half when he hit .302 with 10 homers and 38 RBI compared to .261/7/47.
