Governors FAQs: What happens when a governor’s term of office ends?

0

At the end of a governor’s term of office arrangements should be to fill the vacancy. Governors may stand again for re-election or re-appointment if they are still eligible (e.g. parents who stand for election must have a child at the school). An item is placed on the next full governing body agenda to indicate that there is a community (coopted) governor vacancy. Sometimes governors choose not to continue to serve in office. If so they should inform the Chair or the headteacher.
