I would suggest wither a larger SUV, like an expedition or even Explorer, or go with the Grand Marquis (crown Vic) The escape is a nice small suv, but not the most roomy, and for an 8 hr drive with 4 large adults, I would suggest you will be more comfy in something larger. Also the G.M. is wider than the Escape, so thus it will have more room around each adult as well. And the trunk is large in the Grand Marquis and will have lots of room for luggage.
