Greys star business, Haier, has also moved out of Grey. Why is that?
A. I can assure you that as an agency, Grey has always given Haier good advertising consistently, be it from the creative, planning or the service angle. It was very difficult to change the way this nation thinks of Chinese brands. But we managed to remove that heritage out of Haier and position it as an international brand. In fact, I have handled the business myself and have the best people working on it. Haier is not a typical multinational home appliances company. You may say it has its own yin and yang. There were various things on which we did not agree remuneration was chief amongst those. It was then decided that it was in the best interest of both parties to part.
