H3C MSR series supports USB and CF card, what are the main functions?
MSR series supports CF card and USB. From the perspective of basic function, they all provide external storage function on the router, for example, store system files, configuration and system log files and so on. Unlike the system files and configuration of R/AR series routers which are stored in Flash, the system files of MSR series routers are stored in CF card. So MSR series routers come with CF card by default for this function. MSR series has USB interface to support the use of U-type disk. You can use U-type disk to read/write files from/to the router.? With the prevalence of CF card and USB interface as well as higher storage capacity and lower hardware cost, the use of U-type disk can be extended easily later. For example, you can use the information stored in U-type disk as key start and control system, and store system log files and security log information in U-type disk or CF card.
