Has any one had a problem with fuel pump on ford focus 1.8 tdci zetec 03 plate?

I have a 2001 Ford Focus with fuel pump problems. We first noticed it on a long trip in June 2006. The car repeatedly stalled after we almost ran it out of gas. (This was after we had driven it about 300 miles) We thought it was an isolated incident- maybe we dredged some dirt up from the bottom of the gas tank or maybe we got some “bad gas” after filling it up. We added a bottle of dry gas & a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. It ran fine on the way home. A trip to our local Ford dealer after getting home resulted in a clean bill of health for the car.. We made our first long trip of 2007 a week ago (more than 300 miles in a day) & the fuel pump acted up again. This time it was around a 1/4 tank or more. The problem has become much more serious. We drove it home stopping every 75 miles to fill it up & frequently allowing it to cool. I think this problem is related to yours even though our car is older & has a 2.0 liter (se). If you do a search for fuel pump problems on 1999-2001 Focuse
