Has anyone developed sleep apnea or symptoms of sleep apnea after a deployment?
The whole Sleep Apnea thing is a con, as far as I’m concerned. I went in for a sleep study, and the first thing the Doc said during the initial examination was “You need to have your tonsils taken out.” I did the sleep study, and of course, I need a CPAP machine. No mention was made of taking my tonsils out, which seemed to me to be a more permanent and practical choice instead of being hooked-up to a CPAP machine for the rest of my life. I gave up on it after a week. After a few years, I went to an EENT Doc, who told me the same thing the Doc at the sleep center told me, which is I need to get my tonsils taken out (actually, all of my soft pallet would be taken out). I’m making plans to do it right now. I’m no Doc, but it sounds like your hubby may suffer from something PTSD related, not sleep apnea.
