Has anyone ever been on a large boat that sank?

I have been on many sinking vessels but managed to help dewater them and plug the holes. There was a shrimp boat that was taking on water in the Gulf of Mexico that did sink. By the time we arrived the engine room was flooded and it was really spooky as the lights were flickering and there were sparks until it finally went dark (it was about 3am). We were setting up the dewatering pumps but the vessel was to far gone and we ended up getting everyone evacuated and watched it sink very quickly. I remember one time we found a 40′ vessel near the Dry Tortugas with a bunch (too many) and they were lost. They were coming from Cuba to the US. We removed the people from the vessel and they sent me over to shut off the engines and ensure nobody else was onboard. While trying to turn off the engines I realized the pilot house key switch did not work so I went into the engine room to find both engines on fire. I went back up and the transfer boat was out of range and I was stuck onboard a burning
